Interior styling & decor

Rooms with a
point of view.

Ladyfern is the studio of Nicole Jones — artist, Pratt-trained designer, and art director of a decade in fashion. She makes homes and spaces that carry emotion, depth and personality, not a template.

The studio

A space should feel like the person who lives in it — not like a showroom.

Design that starts with you.

Nicole has spent her whole life in the creative space: art classes as a child, a BFA in Communications Design from Pratt Institute, and more than ten years as a graphic designer and art director in fashion marketing — styling sets and photoshoots, building campaigns, designing the things people feel before they can explain.

Ladyfern brings that eye home. It is the meeting point of art, design and eclectic home goods: rooms composed the way a shoot is composed, with an instinct for the unexpected piece that makes the whole thing sing.

What we do

From a single shelf to the whole floor.

  • 01

    Residential room makeovers

A whole room reconsidered — layout, palette, lighting and the pieces that make it yours.

  • 02

    Commercial space styling

Studios, shops and workspaces styled so the room says what the brand means.

  • 03

    Vintage & thrift sourcing

The hunt for the one-off piece. Years of practice at spotting it before anyone else does.

  • 04

    Mini decorating projects

A gallery wall, a shelf, an entryway. Smaller than a room, and often the thing that changes it.

Selected work

See it before you build it.

Digital 2-D renderings

Every decision, made on paper first.

Scaled, drawn-to-plan renderings show exactly how the pieces sit together — wall colour against timber, the scale of the light fitting, whether the art is the right size. Nothing is ordered on hope.

It is the fastest way to know a room will work, and the cheapest place to change your mind.

The boutique

Chosen one piece at a time, never by the pallet.

A curated collection, always changing.

Eclectic home goods, vintage finds and small pieces gathered one at a time — the same things that end up in client rooms. Sold through the Ladyfern Etsy shop.

Why Ladyfern

Three reasons clients stay.

i.

A multi-discipline eye

Illustration, graphic design, art direction, set and photoshoot styling. Ten years of making images that had to work — now pointed at rooms.

ii.

Personal, not prescribed

The brief is your life, not a mood board downloaded from somewhere else. The room should look like nobody else’s.

iii.

A talent for the unusual

Vintage, thrifted, one-off. Finding the piece nobody else spotted is the part of the job Nicole likes best.

Every room already has something worth keeping. The work is noticing it, then building around it.
